Did Netflix dish out that Last of Us budget for some stellar effects, or are we going to have a lot of bottle episodes and characters barely showing off their powers? I mean, Luffy’s powers alone demand some top notch VFX. I’m just here worried if the show will be able to catch up to all the spectacle from the anime. With the cartoon-y nature of One Piece, we should expect even more wackiness when it comes to live-action, but I am optimistic that they have the right cast for the job. Cowboy Bebop tried its best to copy the anime frame-by-frame, but the series was still terribly received. I’ll admit, adapting anime into live-action has always been kind of a Herculean task.
